Browns vs. Giants - Preseason Game 2 Live Blog at WFNY
LeBron to Europe? I Don’t Think So
Be Afraid Utah
Carlos Boozer is a snake and one of the most dishonorable people in professional sports history.
I guess I am not over this just yet.
Seattle Sonics Trial About to Begin
I have pledged my support for the city of Seattle to keep their basketball team. Now, as the trial date looms, I read that Seattle plans to use many of the same arguments that were used in Cleveland to keep the team name, colors, and to ultimately secure an expansion team. This isn’t a typical tenant-landlord case. I hope Seattle gets to at least keep their name and history, if nothing else.
Pat Forde is a Hack Volume II
I don’t know how many volumes we will have to run out here before someone gets their head out of their turd-cutter and cuts this turd from the roster of writers at ESPN. Forde lambasted Ohio State after losing their second straight National Championship game in a ridiculous, taunting manner. I couldn’t figure out why the acidity was so necessary then. And now, I can’t figure out why he needs to be so nasty about Big Brown and his owner.
I would get it if he was a contributor for Deadspin. I don’t think that we need to have the conversation reduced to attacks on the more well-established media websites like ESPN. After the Ohio State article, I emailed the ESPN ombudsman, Le Anne Schreiber, but she didn’t get enough response to make it a priority.
I assume Forde will eventually piss off a critical mass of people. I can’t wait.
Greg Cote is a Boob
This might be one of the dumbest op-eds I have ever read. First of all MMA is a great sport. MMA is not the name of a league in competition with UFC.
Value Proposition
Would you pay $100,000 for a Mercedes with 80,000 miles on it? The Seattle Seahawks sure wish they hadn’t.
Goliath is Dead - Giants Beat Pats
Who would have thought that the Giants would beat the Pats in the Superbowl? Most people didn’t give the Giants a chance and with a little bit of luck and some decent performances, the Giants were able to pull it off.
For the record, I still don’t believe in Eli. I wonder how long through the next season the Giants fans will give Eli the benefit of the doubt before they start trying to run him out of town again?
I give them until week 6.
Gregg Easterbrook On Spygate
I don’t buy the fact that this is just random timing that more info is coming out today about SpyGate. Just like during the ALCS before game 7 when the media “found out” about HGH allegations involving Paul Byrd of the Cleveland Indians, it is the media trying to put themselves in the limelight during the sport’s biggest day.
Still, timing aside, if these allegations are true that the Pats taped St. Louis’ walk-through the day before their first Super Bowl win, in which St. Louis went over every one of their trick plays and unseen formations, then this whole deal could get ugly. Some sideline taping is one thing. Secretly taping a practice is quite another.
I do agree with Easterbrook that this could be the biggest cheating scandal since the Chicago Black Sox. Everyone who reads this blog knows that I don’t like the Pats. Still, I would never wish any of this on the game of football and the NFL. This isn’t good for anyone including people who dislike the Pats.
I dislike the Pats because they have been so damn dominant and because Bill Belichick sucked so badly when he was in Cleveland. I would hate to think that my hate of this team would come up being tainted by some bona fide cheating, rather than just competitive juices.
