Wordpress Hoodie
How weird is it that I am so in love with my new online content management system (CMS) that I am tempted to buy a hoodie emblazoned with the big “W” that stands for Wordpress?

Ok, so it is definitely weird.
How weird?

“Rescue Me” Criticism
I only have one criticism of the series so far. I am on season 2 of the DVD’s. And this criticism goes for all TV shows being released on DVD.
Please, can we remove the opening credits music from the shows on DVD? As much as I may or may not like the Von Bondies, I really don’t need to hear “C’mon C’mon” every time I watch an episode of the show. Is there any reason that we can’t cut this stuff out with the commercials? I tried to think about a reason that you wouldn’t want to remove those, but I can’t think of any.
Cloverfield Made Me Nauseous
I really liked Cloverfield. It was really cool. The problem was the shaky cam. I don’t normally get sick aside from the way back of the station wagon facing the wrong way when I was a kid. But, I couldn’t keep my head calmed down during Cloverfield.
The movie was really very interesting and exciting and gave me the chills in a good way, but I just couldn’t look at the screen after a while. My stomach started to hurt and I honestly thought like I could have thrown up at least once.
I will write more about this one later. My stomach still hurts right now.
Memo to EA Sports Regarding NBA Live on Xbox Live
I don’t know what kind of operation you are running here, but is it too much to ask, on a system that requires me to download updated rosters every time I log on to the system, that you might update the Cavaliers roster so that it includes Anderson Varejao and Larry Hughes? I am sick and tired of having to use Donyell Marshall (who is currently out to injury in real life) while having Larry Hughes and Anderson Varejao unavailable in the game when they are actually playing in real life.
I know the loss of Larry Hughes might not seem like that big of a deal, but with an online video game rating of 82, he represents a significant upgrade to any other players on the Cavaliers roster in the game.
Please please please just update the rosters. I paid good money for the game and I pay good money for access to Xbox Live.
Thank you.
F-word in Check Memo = Disorderly Conduct?
I really wish that this guy would have gone to trial to fight these fascist asses. I realize that it might not be in the best taste to write “Fuck You” in the memo field on a check that was used to pay a parking ticket, but I don’t think it violates any kinds of laws or represents disorderly conduct. In fact, I think it could easily be seen as a political statement or protest. Anyway, I wouldn’t do it personally, but I am far more offended that a police department would entertain a charge of disorderly conduct for this than I am that this guy put that in the memo line of his check.
In the end, he apologized and the charges were dropped, but he seriously didn’t have to apologize to anyone for that.
Browns Hire Mel Tucker As D Coordinator
After firing Todd Grantham, the Browns ended speculation about whether they would bring someone in or promote from within by promoting Mel Tucker from d-backs coach to defensive coordinator. All I know is that this means we will have more of the same scheming, presumably. I would guess that Romeo’s fingerprints will be all over this team via his newest coordinator.
REPORT: Chudzinski Signs Extension With Browns
It appears that my worst fears for the Browns off-season have been allayed. The report from the Baltimore Sun is that Rob Chudzinski has taken his name out of the running for the Ravens head coaching vacancy, opting instead to sign an extension with the Cleveland Browns. This makes me very happy.
First, it takes the pressure off of the Romeo Crennel situation. I don’t really care so much what happens with Romeo now that Chud is coming back. I risk sounding like a broken record, but Chud is the guy responsible for the turnaround in my opinion, so it is great news to know that he will be back.
I Look Funny When I Sing
I recently did a song at a friend’s Christmas show. I have posted a few pics over at The Company Line’s website.
I don’t know why I make such funny faces when I sing, but I certainly do. Very odd. I couldn’t look any less like a rockstar than I probably do.
Two iPod Lessons Learned Today
My Nano bricked out last week and I had to reset the firmware. Whatever firmware update that occurred to my iPod Nano ruined something because it acts differently now than it did before. Specifically, when I have a podcast, it won’t just let me copy the file straight onto the iPod and use it like any other music file. It no longer shows up on the iPod. So, after playing with the “sync” features for a while, I got the iPod to sync my podcasts onto my iPod. They were still only available through the “podcast” menu within the iPod and wouldn’t show up in the regular music files.
I played around with the Podcast files themselves, added an “Album Artist” by selecting the song, right-clicking and editing the info. After warning me that I might not want to do that, it let me change it. After changing the “Album Artist” to be the same as the “Artist” field, I was able to copy the files onto the Nano AND see them and play them like they are just single songs. WHEW!
Why won’t the Nano let me see those files if they don’t have the “Album Artist” field filled in on the file’s data?
While I was playing with the file info, I noticed another option that will come in very handy. There is an option to select “Remember playback position.” While I am an XM subscriber, I record the Opie and Anthony and Ron and Fez shows to listen at my convenience on the iPod. Those end up being three hour long files. If I lost my place, or wanted to listen to something else for a while, I either had to remember where I was and fast forward to the spot, or I had to search through those giant audio files to find my place in a multiple hour show. Not any more. Click on “Remember playback position” before you copy it to the iPod and it will go straight to the point where you just were.
Sweet.
