NBC Cancels Studio 60

Thank goodness that NBC made a viewing choice for me for next season. Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip was kinda entertaining at best. In the end it was preachy and the dialogue was impossibly perfect to the point of unbelievability.

Although, it doesn’t look like the replacements are all that compelling. A Heroes spinoff called origins and a remake of the Bionic Woman starring Michelle Ryan.

Brandon Meriweather’s Car is Old

Patriots first-round draft pick Brandon Meriweather drives an old Toyota Camry with rusted paint and somewhere in the neighborhood of 270,000 miles on it. This is a testament to the quality of Toyota’s, but someone needs to help this dude spend his signing bonus. It is going to start making his agent look bad.

Sizemore SI Curse Update

It has been three straight losses for the Cleveland Indians since we heard that Grady Sizemore will appear on the cover of Sports Illustrated. Sizemore has gone 2 – 11 with 3 strikeouts as his average has fallen to 0.248 and his OPB has dropped to 0.394 from 0.410.

Eff Sports Illustrated. Eff them right in the ear.

Bird and McHale Fly Like Birds and McInHale

According to John Mellencamp, when he would play shows in Boston in the 80’s, Kevin McHale and Basketball Jesus Larry Bird would come hang out and “smoke him under the table.” I guess I am not all that surprised, but I do find it kind of funny in this day and age with the demonization of all things drug-related that a high profile guy would out two other high profile guys for doing something that would get any current player in trouble.

Swimmer Amanda Beard to Appear in Playboy?

According to reports, Olympic swimmer Amanda Beard, who has appeared in photo shoots for all the boys mags like FHM and Maxim, has decided to take some money from Hugh Hefner and company. Beard goes in line with other athletes like skater Katarina Witt, and volleyball player Gabrielle Reece who have also adorned the pages of Playboy in the past.

Somehow, I hope that this doesn’t degenerate into an issue of “The Women of the WNBA.”

My Inner Child is Back

I know I am going on 30 years old here, but I keep seeing the commercial for these on TV, and I just HAVE TO HAVE ONE NOW! I have felt a little embarassed about it, probably mostly because my wife keeps making fun of me every time I mention it. I guess I shouldn’t take it too personally, seeing as she likes to play games that require her to be a waitress for fun.

So, if anyone wants to be my super special friend forever, I would enjoy the opportunity to fly this bad boy all over the house, perfecting maneuvers and landings.

Pam Anderson Dates a Long Snapper

Sure, Anderson isn’t the catch she was when she was dating Charles in Charge’s Scott Baio, but she is still very very easy on the eyes. So how is it that she is dating David Binn, long snapper of the San Diego Chargers?

All I can guess is that chicks dig the long ball, even when it has to do with a snapped football.
