Joey Crawford from a Cavs’ Perspective

April 18, 2007 · Filed Under Sports · Comment

Terry Pluto had this little snippet at the end of his column about the Cavs this morning.

When veteran official Joe Crawford was suspended by the NBA for the playoffs after ejecting Tim Duncan off the bench from Sunday’s game, it brought back memories of a game in the early 1990s at the old Richfield Coliseum, when Crawford threw out Larry Nance for laughing. Then he tossed Mark Price, Brad Daugherty, Craig Ehlo and coach Lenny Wilkens. He was fined for that incident. Crawford, 55, has been an NBA official for 31 years.

Some of us decided that some of the Indians players look like famous people. Now, with pictures!

Anthony Gonzalez is the Forgotten Buckeye

So what’s the deal with the guy that some Ohio State fans considered the best receiver on the team last year including the blazingly fast Ted Ginn?

Thoughts on Don Imus

April 13, 2007 · Filed Under Sports · Comment

I was going to write something about the whole Don Imus situation and how it escalated into an out-of-control media frenzy. Then I read Jason Whitlock’s column and figured that it would be completely pointless for me to add my words to the already over-crowded mess of people who think they know what they are talking about.

If you want to read almost exactly how I feel about the topic, please read Jason Whitlock’s column here.

JFK Conspiracy Presumably Solved

A Death-bed confession is presumably laying out exactly how JFK was killed by VP Lyndon Johnson and some CIA operatives with varying levels of interest in the case.

Someone tell Oliver Stone the bad news.

Cavs Re-thinking Offensive “Strategy” Late in Games

Before the strategy can be RE-thought, they should probably take some time to THINK of a strategy in the first place.

Milwaukee Treats Tribe Well

April 11, 2007 · Filed Under Sports · Comment

Over 19,000 people went to the Angels vs. Indians in Milwaukee last night. What an unbelievable showing for them all to show up to see two teams that aren’t their own.

The Indians took care of business 7 – 6.

Milwaukee Papers Covering the Tribe

April 10, 2007 · Filed Under Sports · Comment

Because the Indians are playing home games in Milwaukee there is some interesting coverage of the team in Milwaukee.

An interview with Tribe radio announcer Tom Hamilton

Another paper discusses the series and misspells Travis Hafner’s name with too many F’s.

It should be a wacky night on TV. I don’t know how many people will actually be at the game, despite the $10 seats.

Indians vs. Angels in Milwaukee

April 10, 2007 · Filed Under Sports · Comment

Due to all the nasty snow here in Cleveland, tonight marks the first time the Indians will be playing a home game at Miller Park in Milwaukee. Not that it will be all that big a deal in the scheme of things during a 162-game schedule, but this is kind of depressing. This is not what I had in mind when I saw the start of Cleveland Indians baseball approaching.

I just hope this doesn’t come back to bite the Tribe at the end of the season if they are contending for a playoff spot and have to make up a bunch of games in a short period of time. There is nothing like 6 games in 7 days to throw your record into a rut.

Scarlett Johannson Pictures

One of the cool things about having a sports message board is going off topic with hot pictures of women. It may seem trite and predictable, but how can you argue with pictures of Scarlett Johansson?
