Tribe GM Mark Shapiro Agrees to Five-Year Extension
Mark Shapiro signs five-year deal.
He may be the man who carried out the uprooting of the Cleveland Indians in 2002, but he has remained relatively unscathed as he rebuilt this team almost from the ground up. He survived departures by cornerstone franchise guys like Jim Thome and Manny Ramirez. It will be interesting to see how his legacy ends up as he faces a few more franchise players with potential free agencies in CC Sabathia, Travis Hafner and Cliff Lee.
Browns Cut Terrell Smith
The Browns cut Terrelle Smith today leaving Lawrence Vickers as the only fullback on the roster.
I was pretty excited when they originally signed Terrelle Smith, but he never really did much and his fiery celebrations after not doing much began to give me the douche chills. Thusly, I am not sad to see him go.
Now Try to Imagine This Delivered in Monotone
Ben Stein writes a scathing little piece about the economy and what is wrong with it.

Antonella Barba Will Turn Down Nude Offers
I wonder how she will feel 6 months down the road when she is about as well-known as Mandisa is today? At least she has some opportunity to make money on her looks. She should be thankful for that.
Browns Lose Mahan to Steelers
It is one thing for the Browns to miss out on signing a guy like Nate Clements who never made it here for a visit. It is quite another to have a guy visit, and then lose him to a division rival like Pittsburgh.
Everyone knows that the Browns need more help on the offensive line. Losing a potential lineman to the Steelers is a double whammy.
Cavs Up Win Streak to Five
The Cavs beat Indiana yesterday. Indiana played relatively uninspired. Notes from the game were that Shannon Brown played very well in limited time. He scored 7 points in 13 minutes, but the real story was a breakaway finger-roll layup where he jumped over a defender from out around the free throw line.
It is nice to finally see the kind of athleticism that everyone talked about when Brown was drafted last season in the first round.
Cavs Come From Behind to Beat Bucks
The Cavs waged another uphill battle and found a way to come from behind in the fourth quarter for the victory. LeBron continues his streak and scores 32.
The real story of the game is that the Cavs shot 13 of 15 from the free throw line. So the Cavs win 94-92 and are still 2 back of the Pistons in the East.
Browns Sign DT Shaun Smith to Offer Sheet
The Browns have signed him to an offer sheet, but the Bengals have 7 days to match the offer.
The Browns apparently see this guy as their nose tackle of the future if they get him. Because he was an undrafted free agent signee by the Bengals, the Browns wouldn’t need to compensate them with any of their draft picks if they sign him.
This could end up like the Chester Taylor situation though. We will have to wait and see what the Bengals do.
