Ohio DUI Menace Gets 16 1/2 Years in Prison

This story is astonishing. The worst drunken-driving offender in the state of Ohio was convicted of his 19th and 20th DUI offenses.

Brown asked the judge for leniency, saying he has congestive heart disease and has never been offered treatment for his alcoholism. He also suggested that he could serve as a public speaker to steer people away from drinking and driving instead of going to prison.

One of my biggest pet peeves is the idea that everyone who fucks up can turn their mistake into a lesson for the rest of us and that they should be shown leniency for doing so. Enough. We will learn our lesson from the news story.

    I’m a little curious about how he managed to stay out of jail after, say, DUIs three through 17.
