This just in… you can’t modify a machine and load it up with illegally copied games and sell them for a huge premium and expect to get away with it. This trio of geniuses loaded up XBox machines with chips and 250 gig hard drives loaded with as many as 80 games according to reports.

Why Hollywood is Failing at the Box Office

There are lots of predictions as to why Hollywood is having a tough time attracting movie-goers. DVD’s, video games, pirating and many other things have been blamed. I think it might have more to do with the fact that people in Hollywood are greenlighting projects like the sequel to the Johnson Family Vacation starring Cedric the Entertainer and it only pulled in $31 million domistically.

That is not the way to make a comeback.

While everyone else is spending crazy amounts of money on guys like Bobby Howry who performed well in their contract years, the Cleveland Indians are trying to capture lightning in a bottle like they do every year. I am hoping that Danny Graves and Steve Karsay can make comebacks after the Tribe signed them to minor league deals for spring training. These deals are genius when they work out and an example of cheap ownership when they don’t.

Joseph Nacchio, who oversaw a $100 billion drop in the market value of Qwest Communications International Inc. as chief executive officer, was charged with insider trading for sales of $100.8 million in company stock.

Let’s hope this is another case of swift sentencing.

AOL is On the Way Back

With Google on board, AOL might actually stand a chance at becoming a real competitive portal based on its content. I am not sure that $1 billion for 5% is totally accurate. That values AOL at $20 billion overall and that seems like a whole lot for a company that still has income based on dial-up internet service.

Gwen Stefani Pregnant?

According to US Weekly, Gwen and Gavin have a child on the way. I am secretly hoping that they do for two reasons. 1. I want (at least) 9 months off from good ole Gwen’s music. 2. It will be interesting to see if she can retain her eating-disorder-looking body frame after carrying a child.
