Phil Savage Gone From Browns?

December 30, 2005 · Filed Under Uncategorized · Comments Off

They are reporting that Savage had disputes with VP John Collins over the salary cap management. This is certainly a discouraging piece of news because I thought we had such a good talent evaluator in Savage. I don’t know what to make of this, but I am hoping that it isn’t a power play of any kind. After Butch Davis, I am not sure I have the stomach for any more power plays in Cleveland pro football.

Being a Rich Dork is Fun

If you had a billion dollars in company stock, what would you do? Maybe buy a ton of silly putty for Christmas and play with it.

From Stadium Rock to Pedophilia

“Former singer Gary Glitter paid $2,000 (£1,150) each to the families of two Vietnamese girls he is accused of sexually abusing, his lawyer has said.

The money was paid two weeks ago “for co-operation” in the upcoming legal case, Le Thanh Kinh said.”

This dude seems like a sicko to me. If he gets away with diddling children for $4000 it will be an international tragedy. I hope this guy eats a poison crumpet.

Also, doesn’t this dude look like a combination of David Hasselhoff and Tom Jones?

Radiohead, A Criticism from Mothers Against Noise

December 27, 2005 · Filed Under Uncategorized · 2 Comments

A horrified mother attempts to root out all the bad bands that kids shouldn’t listen to. Radiohead is a ‘gateway band.’ This woman should be shot in her sleep to put her out of her own misery. Although kudos to her for parenting on her own, I guess.

Radiohead- a lot of people keep asking why i included them into this list, but they are what i consider a ‘gateway band’, my son was started out by listening to Radiohead. By presenting a plastic commercialized pop product this act has effortlessly slipped under the radar of a lot of watchdog groups. They use alot electronic noise and noise imagery within compositions and it may on the surface seem harmless but once our kids get hooked on dissonance they will only go further down the road for a bigger kick. If your child only has pop records and a Radiohead record, it might not be too late to save them…. please remove Radiohead CDs from their music collection.

Vincent Schiavelli Dead at 57

December 26, 2005 · Filed Under Uncategorized · Comments Off

Schiavelli was an unheralded actor, but with credits like playing Frederickson in One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest and that crazed dead guy who can grab things in Ghost, I think his career should be celebrated. Oh and he played the creepy science teacher in Fastimes too.

Judge: Caged kids were abused

December 22, 2005 · Filed Under Uncategorized · 3 Comments

I realize this is how justice works and rulings - even obvious ones - need to be made, but is there anyone out there saying anything except, “NO SHIT.”

“Judge Timothy Cardwell said in his decision that making children sleep in cages without pillows or mattresses is abuse.”

Robertson Calls Evolution A “Cultish Religion”

“This textbook contains material on evolution. Evolution is a theory, not a fact, regarding the origin of living things. This material should be approached with an open mind, studied carefully and critically considered.”

I couldn’t agree more Mr. Robertson. What does that statement have to do with ID?

Video Game Boobies

December 21, 2005 · Filed Under Uncategorized · Comments Off

“If you really want bouncing boobs in your game, you might as well make the entire chest area bounce, not just the area surrounding the nipples. Though it is amusing that setting the age of these girls to be older makes the boobs bounce more, it is still in the wrong area. Nipples don’t jiggle, boobs do!”

Why Manny Hates Boston

December 21, 2005 · Filed Under Uncategorized · Comments Off

The media in Boston is fickle and relentless. No sooner does Johnny Damon sign on the dotted line in New York, than Dan Shaughnessy turns into a blogger fanboy blasting the turncoat.

After Jonny Damon used “we” to describe the Yanks lineup next year with him in it.

…For all of his athletic gifts, we always knew Johnny had the depth of your average kiddie pool, and it’s therefore entirely believable that he could invoke the royal Yankee ”we” so quickly.

Now maybe Boston can understand how I felt when they snapped Manny Ramirez from Cleveland?

Oh, and as long as we are playing that game, why is it that they can be angry with Damon who was offered an additional 3 million per year over the life of that contract? The difference was that Boston offered $40 million and the Yanks offered $52.

Death Cab Turn ‘Plans’ into ‘Directions’

December 20, 2005 · Filed Under Uncategorized · 1 Comment

I don’t know if this is going to be good yet or not. It seems like a good idea, but doesn’t have much margin for error.

Death Cab for Cutie has plans for new “Directions.” Each song from the band’s Grammy-nominated album, “Plans,” has been made into a music video, adding up to an anthology of 12 short films titled, “Directions.”

The videos, created by 12 different directors, will be unveiled one by one on Death Cab for Cutie’s Web site early next month, it was announced Monday.
