A woman bought a winning lottery ticket worth $1 million with a stolen credit card and could wind up with nothing if convicted, police said.

Christina Goodenow, 38, of White City in southern Oregon faced numerous theft-related charges, forgery and possession of methamphetamine, said authorities, who searched her home Thursday. The card belonged to a deceased relative, they said.

I was all ready to make this joke about Donnie Wahlberg because the only other movie I know he was in was the Sixth Sense. Then I searched his IMDB page and found out that he was in Stephen King’s Dreamcatcher too, which I enjoyed a lot, despite a tiny level of guilt in this pleasure.

What role did Wahlberg play?

I never would have guessed it, but the group’s mentally retarded friend with amazing alien abilities, Dudditz.

(By the way, I loved the fact that this character was a Red Sox fan.)

Interesting that a company that specializes in computers and portable electronic devices and digital downloads would do this on their page.

Is it good morality shown by a company?

Is it offensive because it could be construed as a sales tactic?

“The lawyers reached a plea agreement Tuesday for a 30-year term for a man accused of shooting with an intent to kill and robbery. But Eric James Torpy wanted his prison term to match Bird’s jersey number 33.

“He said if he was going to go down, he was going to go down in Larry Bird’s jersey,” Oklahoma County District Judge Ray Elliott said Wednesday. “We accommodated his request and he was just as happy as he could be.”

Umm, yeah…

Doom the Movie Starring The Rock

I know that movies and video games don’t mix all that well. The Super Mario Brothers movie was a complete borefest. Still, having spent so many hours of my life playing Doom 2 against friends over the modem, I am going to have to give it a shot and go see the movie. I expect it to be mindless, violent and hopefully fun. I know critics don’t like it (it got a tomato-meter reading of 20% on rotten tomatoes) but it doesn’t matter. I need to give it a shot.
