VW to Use USB Inputs for MP3 Players

VW Passat’s and Golf’s among other models of cars, will feature USB inputs so that drivers can control their car stereos with the controls on their standard car stereos. Too bad for me. I guess the custom solution that my friend and I came up with was a little bit ahead of our own time! :-)

Should We Boycott Gasoline?

I should hope that a couple more of these articles would start to get this idea out of everyone’s collective head. Bill O’Reilly suggests not filling up on Sundays. Emailers suggest a national boycott day. The real answer is to try and conserve as much gas as possible over time. Causing a big disruption in a small period of time will not yield any long-term benefits.

Frequent Commenter Chris D. and His Web Presence

I am headed to Cape Cod this weekend for Chris D’s wedding and he just happens to have a web page. FEMA Director Brown “relieved” of Hurricane-related Duties

After the catastrophic underperformance of Brown in his position, he has been replaced. It looks as if he will not be fired, but will probably leave FEMA soon. I am sure this won’t give too many people the satisfaction they were looking for. I don’t know quite what to say about it just yet, but hopefully it yields results.

The Ring 2, Assault on Precinct 13, Both Complete Stinkers

The Ring 2 is drivel. It recycles too much of the first movie and has, basically no edge. Even that hottie Naomi Watts couldn’t save this rotting piece of roadkill.

This movie also stunk. Ethan Hawke is a good actor… about 1 in every 500 movies that he is in. Gattaca? Good. Assault on Precinct 13? Not so much. Nobody should see this. Unexplainable deaths and a storyline which never achieves the “And Then There Were None” feel that I think they were going for. I would rather give myself paper cuts between my toes than watch this movie ever again.

IPod Nano is Announced

The IPod Nano is available in 2 GB and 4 GB models and is as skinny as a pencil. Oh, and it has the full color screen and click wheel technology of the IPod photos. As long as IPod keeps killing its own previous versions, there will never be an “IPod Killer.”

New Coheed and Cambria

Yes, folks. The Coheed and Cambria album really is called “Good Apollo, I’m Burning Star IV, Volume One: From Fear Through The Eyes of Madness”. It is long, slightly annoying and more than slightly pretentious if you ask me. No matter, though, because the album is good from what I have heard so far. As I give it a few more listens, I will have a review of it for you.

Microsoft’s Ballmer “I will f***ing kill Google.”

Ballmer allegedly threw a chair across his office and said he was going to “f***ing kill Google” in a tirade after a Microsoft employee told him that he was jumping ship to take a position at Google. This rivalry is still hard for me to envision, but if they are competing for the best and brightest minds there will assuredly be a great many clashes over the next few decades.
