Reporter Gets Fired Over Opie and Anthony Stunt

I said on this site yesterday that a reporter dropped the F-bomb on the air when his live broadcast was assaulted by an Opie and Anthony intern on the streets of NYC. Now, that reporter has been fired for losing it and letting that profanity out over the air. Just another person left in the wake of the Opie and Anthony show, which is available uncensored on XM Satellite Radio.

Revenge of the Sith - Download the Movie

Apparently, Revenge of the Sith, the final Star Wars movie is available for download on Bit Torrent and other places. I don’t have it and I won’t be looking for it, because I am betting it is the kind of bootleg that was taken with a video camera in the back of the theater. The sound is always garbled and the footage usually isn’t very crisp on versions like that. Plus if too many people get up to get popcorn in the middle…

Concession Prices Raised at Theaters for Star Wars

While this may be a quick win for theaters who have been experiencing problems with movie attendance, this is just a tiny little battle in the war that movie theaters everywhere are losing in trying to win our entertainment dollars. Between on-demand offerings popping up everywhere, to Netflix, theaters are going to end up losing this battle. Raising concession prices to rape the audiences that see Star Wars isn’t going to help them in the long run either.

Blind Justice Canceled

Blind Justice, starring Ron Eldard, was supposed to “take over” for NYPD Blue when it went off the air.

It was about a detective who keeps working even after he is blinded. It was about the dumbest concept for a show since Cop Rock, and I am glad ABC had the sense to get rid of it.

Story lines this bad make me cringe.

Interstate Wine Sales OK’d by Supreme Court

Honestly, I couldn’t care less about this ruling, because I don’t drink a whole lot of wine.

But I am hoping it creates a slippery slope with beers. If this means that I can now order a case of Magic Hat #9 for my enjoyment here in Ohio, then I am elated.

You Northeasterners don’t know how lucky you have it with Magic Hat on tap.
