Korn Member Brian Welch Leaves for Jesus

Brian “head” Welch has decided to leave Korn due to his becoming a Christian. “Korn has parted ways with guitarist Brian ‘Head’ Welch, who has chosen Jesus Christ as his savior, and will be dedicating his musical pursuits to that end,” a statement from the band reads. “Korn respects Brian’s wishes, and hopes he finds the happiness he’s searching for.”

I am not making this up folks. A worthy pursuit, but who would have guessed it would come from a member of Korn? It is probably much easier after making a few million in a successful band.

Apple May Lower Prices on Ipod

Apple is reportedly going to unveil new Ipods including a Mini with a color screen. This may also lead to a lowering of prices on current versions of Ipods, which would rule.

Pudge on Roids?

Pudge Rodriguez can deny all he wants, but he was named in Jose Canseco’s book as a steroid user and now he comes into spring training, having lost 22 pounds? Innocent until proven guilty and all that jazz, but I think this is a significant indication of guilt to justify any doubts about how genuine Pudge is.

The Simpsons has come a long way since Bart was the focal point of the show with “Don’t Have a Cow, Man” on t-shirts. Now Patty, Marge’s sister, will reveal that she is a closeted homosexual. Certainly not a big deal in the landscape of things, with the exception that this is a cartoon. It is just amazing how this show has progressed over the years, and continues to be quality.

Stern Sirius Subpoena

A guest of the Howard Stern Show, Chaunce Hayden, was subpoena’d by the SEC in relation to an insider trading investigation surrounding Howard Stern’s announcement that he was taking his program to Sirius. Hayden apparently made a prediction that Stern would take his show to Sirius two weeks before the announcement was made.

Secret Talks with Insurgents

It appears that the U.S. Military is having “backchannel” conversations with Sunni insurgents in Iraq.

While I don’t think negotiating with these people is such a hot idea, I think opening channels of communication to let these people know the situation and that they aren’t going to be able to supercede the policies of this government through violence is a good idea. After all, talking never hurt anyone.
