Healthy Burger King
BK is expanding it’s menu this year in hopes of reversing a declining sales total. They are adding salads like McDonalds did and they are also offering their famous Whopper burger sandwich without a bun to capitalize on the whole Atkins diet thing. I wonder if that value meal will come with a large fry and a 215 oz drum of carbonated refreshment. If you are serious about dieting (Atkins or otherwise) please stay the hell away from Burger King.
Straylight Run (Part Two)
Do you remember my little article about Straylight Run? Well, it turns out I was pretty early on the scoop for you guys. They still haven’t been signed to a record deal, but after a couple completely sold out shows in NYC last month, MTV did a 5 minute spot in their “up and coming” artists section. Anyway, it’s still not too late to go download their six recorded demo songs from their website.
The Lebron Show
I know they still aren’t good yet, but after watching the Cavs beat the Sonics last night, I am convinced they have turned the corner. Lebron is the force that keeps them calm and in games. He is still pretty volatile, taking some horrible shots during the 3rd quarter, but he seems to be getting it slowly. He seems to be getting that superstar ability to not only score at key points, but affect the people around him positively. You must admit that he is playing much better than anyone ever thought he could this early. Anyway, I think it might also be a good time to say that the trade of Ricky Davis was good for the Cavs.
Is it just me, or did that trade also work out for the Celtics? Justin?

Here is my favorite link for today. I stole it from BBSpot. Don’t you love when you are driving around somewhere and you see a building that looks quite familiar, but the wrong type of store is in the building? For example if someone converts a Pizza Hut into a laundromat or something. Go check out this site to see some pictures of converted buildings. You know you are not fooling anybody, right?
Faux Sophistication
Can someone please tell me why my ATM machine now talks to me in a female British accent? I understand that it might be appealing, but why not use an elegant American accent? This voice they are using now sounds like a near comatose 30-something British lady. Anyway, if anyone knows what this is all about, I would appreciate you telling me.
Two New Songs
Last week I recorded two songs that I have been playing a lot lately. One is new and the other is a cover of a song that I love by Iron and Wine called The Sea and the Rhythm. It is a little different than the version recorded by Iron and Wine so I recommend you go to Sub Pop’s website and check out the real thing whenever you get a chance.

I know it will kill a lot of the open nature of weblogs, but I am looking forward to the user registration module that will be built into the next version of movable type. I just spent the last 25 minutes clearing up spam comments hawking various drugs and online gambling sites. Spammers are slowly climbing the charts to rival pedophiles, rapists and murderers as the largest scum on this earth. They still have a ways to go to take over the number one spot, but they are trying awfully hard.

You can get the certificate for under the buying power that it gives you. What a way to buy things. This is an especially good time as lots of people got gift certificates over the holidays that they may or may not want.
