Jenn-Air Euro Style Hood Reset and Filter Reset Instructions

After doing a number of Google searches for this information, I thought I would just go ahead and post it for myself and others.  The question has been asked a number of times around the net on the search engine squatting websites, but the answers are never there.  Here you go.

I have a stainless steel ceiling mounted hood. Not sure if this works on the wall-mounted models, but it probably can’t hurt to try.

After a power outage the hood started acting strangely.  The lights wouldn’t turn on and neither would the fan.  When I hit the fan light a weird character showed up on the little LCD number display.  I took the cover off underneath so I could see the inner part of the hood.  I grabbed the white power coupler and disconnected the power for 15 minutes.  A disconnect of the power for 15 minutes will sometimes work to reset the hood.  In my case it worked perfectly.  After re-connecting the power, the fan and lights worked as they normally do.

As for the filter reset, these instructions are in the manual, but if you want to skip the PDF on Jenn-Air’s website, just hold the power up and power down buttons simultaneously for five seconds.  These are the buttons with the plus + and minus – signs on them.  Make sure your power is on and the letter A is showing on the LCD display.
