I went to check out some friends last night and I used my latest toy to record some video just for kicks. The sound and video quality are actually kind of cool. I used a Flip video camera that records an hour, plugs directly into my PC’s USB and creates AVI’s that are perfectly formatted for YouTube. And I think it was only $150.
Anyway, The Family Riot might not be everybody’s cup of tea, but I like them. They play self-described “Experi-Metal Cartoon Core” so you have to at least respect the imagination as they build a sonic assault using keyboards, guitars, screamed vocals, two drum setups, one including a giant empty keg for instrumentation, a full set of marching band bells and four crazy sumbitches to beat the hell out of the stage.

yea… they were absolutely phenomenal. I’ve never been a huge metal fan but their material was so well put together and versed that I found myself enthralled with it. I would definitely go see them again.
I’m the drummer for the group DoHM that put this show together and I invite TFR to every show I’m involved in. They are hands-down the most exciting band in Cleveland (in my opinion). Thanks for sharing this with “the world” via the internet!
Cheers!
