CC Sabathia and Victor Martinez

This might be one of the best sights that these eyes have seen in a long time. People wonder why baseball is my favorite sport. I can’t really explain it, but I can tell you that the feelings I get when pitchers and catchers report are much different than anything I get when Browns training camp starts, or Cavs pre-season.

For some reason I had this crazy premonition Last Wednesday while I was putting gas in my car. Jeremy Sowers is going to win the AL CY Young, and the Tribe will lose in 7 to the Tigers in the ALCS. Keep in mind I wasn’t even thinking about baseball and this popped right in my head from no where!
My thought is that maybe exchange Detroit with Minnesota. I really think Detroit played over their heads last year. I think Minnesota will be right there in the Central all year long.
Either way, it would be amazing to return to the playoffs. We haven’t been able to go to an MLB playoff game in a LONG time.
Baseball is your favorite sport? Are you kidding. You’re telling me that you get more excited when the Indians season begins than when the Browns season starts. I saw you out of your seat at the Browns home opener screaming. Are you saying you get that same excitement for the Indians? I don’t believe you!
Well, you are right that I was losing my mind at the Browns’ opener, but it is a different feeling. I like having the Indians on TV all summer long. I like not having to wait 7 days for the next game. I like the statistics better.
I like football too, but I think I like the whole baseball thing a bit better.
Plus, the instant when Pronk slams a ball over the fence is pretty manic too. I know football is really exciting, but so are baseball playoffs.
Minnesota’s entire season hinges on Francisco Liriano coming back from elbow surgery. I think their rotation is going to suffer without Brad Radke. I like their lineup, but Mauer and Morneau are going to have to duplicate last years numbers.
I look at Detroit adding Gary Sheffield to their already dominant lineup, and expect them to be really tough. Plus their pitching staff is returning intact.
It is tough to say I like the Tribe more than the Browns, but seriously with games almost every night of the week and a core of genuinely likeable players I have to say I am more into the Tribe than the Browns, and have been for a few years now.
I guess the ultimate test would be, if there was an Indians game 7 playoff game and the Browns were playing in a divisional playoff game on the same day, which would you rather go to?
