FWIW, Brian May says the Idol editors took his comments out of context...the "wouldn't do that to my own song" was uttered *before* Ace had rehearsed with them. I still thought it was pretty limp, but it sounds like they made it look worse than it was.

Bucky murdered my favorite Queen song, but Paris should have been the one leaving. That was one soulless, boring performance.

I'm really curious how they dole out songs. If Chris had gotten any of the big anthemic hits, he would have killed. I like Innuendo, but all over America, you could hear everyone saying "What the Hell is this? When was Robert Plant in Queen?"

Well, just from watching the show I can tell you why I like Chris but not Scott Stapp. Scott Stapp does christ poses and means it. Stapp is mildly retarded as we all saw on Celebrity Poker Showdown. I am willing to bet that Stapp doesn't understand sarcasm or irony. It isn't really all that much about the singing that Stapp does. It is about the image of the retard-adonis-with-a-god-complex that pisses me off.

It's funny to me (not in a ha-ha way) how much you like Chris Daughtry. Every time I watch him perform, I feel like I'm hearing the same song. He has no stylistic range, and it's getting a bit boring to me. And, considering how much his style reminds me of Creed, I am slightly stunned to hear you praising him.

I feel the same way about Chris as I do about Kelly and Bucky - they're good at what they do best, but they seem unable to succeed outside of their comfort zone. Bucky & Kelly have at least tried to perform outside of their country zone, but Chris can't seem to leave his Scott Stapp impersonation at the door.
