The Company Line ROCKS Case Western Reserve University TONIGHT
Nothing says rock and roll like a fine institution of higher learning that specializes in engineering.
Alright. Enough with the jokes. We are playing tonight. We should go on somewhere near 10 so you probably want to get there between 9 and 9:30.
But, I hope some of you can make it out to the show. It should be a lot of fun.
IF YOU CANNOT MAKE IT TO THE SHOW AND WANT TO LISTEN, it is supposed to be broadcast on Case Western’s radio station 91.1 That means it should be on the internet broadcast feed, right?

Tim McGraw – I Like It I Love It I Want Some More of It (blech!)
Part of dating Jen involves watching an inordinate number of Monday Night Football games as her hometown Colts team is good enough to have a lot of them. I love my team, but I love football in general, so I can pretty much watch any game at any time if it is on TV. Where I run into problems is with the new halftime show thing that they are doing on Monday Night Football where they play Tim McGraw’s especially crappy song “I Like It I Love It I Want Some More of It” with new and different lyrics every week to match the action that occurred on Sunday.
This is the worstest most awfulest idea that anyone ever had.
Who is the guy sitting in his living room going, “Aw man, I just can’t wait to hear what some witty sports guy wrote for Tim McGraw to sing along with his shitty song this week!”
It stinks. He stinks. I don’t like him. He can take his black leather cowboy and go straight to hell.

And by the way, while we are talking about this instant source of the douche chills, Tim McGraw, how on earth did he get Faith Hill? Is she really stupid, or did he have something really embarassing on her that he is holding over her head as a kind of marriage ransom?
Did Tim know her before the sex change operation? Did he threaten to give out her real name on the internet? (You don’t think her real name is Faith Hill, do you?)
Maybe they were put together in some kind of country music matchmaking marriage version of Menudo and they have to be together.
Eh… who knows?

In Loving Memory of Mr. Miyagi
An icon of my childhood has died. Pat Morita played Mr. Miyagi in The Karate Kid movies which has been one of the classic movies of my generation. While some people have that brat pack, or Molly Ringwald, I have that whiny bitch Ralphie Macchio and Pat Morita as the big-screen icons of a generation. Whether they were fighting Johnny and the Cobra Kai dojo headed by John Creese, or settling lifelong scores in Okinawa, they helped shape my expectations of what movies are supposed to be. Pat Morita is now gone and he will greatly be missed.
And maybe I shouldn’t be asking this question, but I feel like I must say what everyone else is thinking. Why couldn’t it have been Ralph Macchio?

Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson Split

Turns out US Weekly and all the other celebrity hound rags got this one correct. I wonder what their accuracy rate is on the rumor mill?
Anyway, I think this means that there is a higher power. Who or whatever that higher power is, it/she/he just saved Christmas. We won’t have to watch some crappy Christmas special with frosted camera lenses, horribly scripted unfunny sketches and fake snow showering down as a simple audience fills the laugh tracks. (Or were those just plain old laugh tracks?)
I am sure Nick Lachey will be better off in the long run too assuming he gets to take a half of her cash. I am assuming she has a lot more.
Lindsay Lohan – It’s All About the Music

Lohan’s “More Personal” is coming out soon. If the cover is any idea of how good the album is, then it will probably be pretty bad. This album cover says to me that she can’t possibly be trying to sell this album based on the merits of the music. Then again, that really isn’t anything new in the music biz.
I guess I really shouldn’t complain too much. The album cover really is nice to look at, and I probably won’t hear more than a couple songs that are played on TV and possibly on the radio as I am passing through.
By the way, I will also be looking to see how many albums our good friend Creed sells this week. His album was released this week and that was the last album cover I posted up here.
Sometimes This Site is More Demanding than a Person
Or maybe it gives people an excuse to be demanding of me. I have now had two complaints about all the camera phone pictures lately. My brother in the comments and now longtime friend and commenter Chris D. on the phone last night.
Can’t a guy be busy?
Anyway, I will try and resurrect the blog and all the important topics that I have floating around my head over the long weekend.
Cat on Back
You know a cat trusts you if it is willing to sleep on its back. In this picture you will notice that not only is Jen sitting in my favorite seat on the couch, but she has also lured my pet and friend Pixie into sleeping on her lap. Kind of makes the whole sharing thing a moot point, don’t you think?

Jen’s Veggie Omelette
This omelette should have been scrumptious, but note the massive amount of grease that just poured out of it and pooled onto the plate. Suffice to say, Jen didn’t eat all that much of it. Thank goodness it was served with wheat toast or Jen would have starved.
Because I don’t know how to be mean sometimes, we still tipped really well. I guess it wasn’t the waitress’s fault anyway.
It’s snowing in Cleveland
Yesterday got our first round of snow in Cleveland for the year. Jen was flying in from Baltimore so I texted her in the morning to tell her the good news. Her response? “NOOOOOOOOO!”
Nothing you can do really. This is the way it is. We just got a dusting in most of the area, but out further east they got between 6 and 10 inches right in the middle of the snow belt. So, it could be worse. I am not sure that really consoled Jen though.
